Marc Was On Fox TV This Morning...And This Time Not On Cops
Cheryl White from the local Fox affiliate walked around our neighborhood today to film a little last minute shopping segment for their morning show. They came by Heliotrope to talk about some stuff we have.
Check out Marc and Jessica on the show Good Day this morning. :)

I remember seeing this first one when it aired for the first time and being in awe. Aside from being a beautiful duet with a beautiful message, it was sung by two men, David Bowie and Bing Crosby, who could not have been more opposite.
I have to admit that I still choke up a little every time I watch this one. I still get a little teary eyed about half-way through this. It has something to do with the fact that for a few minutes around Christmas, these two humans that were such polar opposites got together and sang a medley of peace and promise.
And...I'll never forget the part of the Charlie Brown Christmas Special where Linus reads the passages from Luke.
"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."
This Just Couldn't Wait For The Saturday Night Blog Thingy: Sharon Jones Edition
Ok..so anyway...just look at this album cover for a minute. Looks like some classic funk/soul diva that came out in the early 60s, right?
Oh hell no...this album just came out LAST MONTH, yall. I'm just sayin'...watch out for this little young lady from Augusta, GA that just jumped on the scene.
A friend of mine turned me on to her last night and now I am obsessed. The groove is all about pre-Parliament, rootsy, sexy, sassy, old school 4 track southern funk soul.
I still can't believe that this isn't some awesome, throwed off, undiscovered soul album from 1962. But no...it was recorded in Macon, Georgia this summer.
Ok so anyway...check out "100 Days 100 Nights" by Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings. Here is the video to the title song...
